Oh my, it has been a while, hasn't it? I swear every few days I open up the new post window and attempt to type something, but I never manage to follow through with a complete thought.
I moved into my apartment on Saturday, and it is precious. Tonight is actually the first night I am sleeping in my new room, though. Saturday night I visited Mary, Ashley, and Lindsey at their new place. We ended up at a keg party by their pool, and not too long before I passed out on Mary's floor, Aaron showed up. Things have been going very well between the two of us for the past month of two, so last night he came over here to meet Emily and Kayla. He just finished decorating his new house, so Elise and I went back to his place to hang out with him and his roommate Shane, and we ended up staying the night there.
So this morning i walk back to my apartment in Sunday night's clothes, much to Emily's amusement, and Elise walks out of her room glaring at me. I had brought a bottle of cheap ass Sutter Home white zinfendel with me to Aaron's place, and while half the bottle just didn't do it for me, it hit non-alcoholic Elise pretty hard. So the first words out of her mouth when I stumble in are, "Shane is not nearly as cute in the daylight as he was last night while I was making out with him."
Everything is coming together very nicely. Elise and I are getting along fantastically, Emily and Kayla are incredibly sweet, Mary and I have gotten to know a group of very cute guys who live across the pool from her. One of them actually works with Aaron. Brandon, Dave, Brian, NickH, Steffan, and Travis move into their on-campus apartments on Wednesday. I'm in heaven.
Honestly, i don't think I've ever been this excited about going back to school. Even the looming threat of organic chemistry this semster can't bring me down. I've felt unproductive all summer, and I am dying to get back to class. I feel like myself again.
The only issue at hand at the moment is money. I can't afford my books just yet, and I've been using student loan money to pay for rent. After the Finals Week From Hell back in May, I lost my extra $800 book stipend that was tacked onto my basic scholarship. I need a job desperately.
I'm sure there is more that could be said, but for now I'm going to head off to sleep in my new bed with my new bright red sheets for the first time. Good night.
